Isaac's at 9 Drayton (Savannah, Georgia)

Isaac's at 9 Drayton, 9 Drayton Street, Savannah Georgia, United States. I guess it is mostly a restaurant but every one in there was sitting at their lovely bar, so a bar it is. There is a slight sports theme to it with the TV'S having sports games on. Apparently 100 years ago a prominent person shot and killed a guy in this place. Recently they found the remains of the victim buried in the basement. The shooter was able to get off the murder charge. Lots of these neat little places in Savannah. Sooo much to see and so little time to see it all.

Mad River Bar and Grille (Charleston, South Carolina)

Mad River Bar and Grille, 32 North Market Street, Charleston, South Carolina, United States

A Church turned in to a bar!!! Built in 1915 and in 1916 was named the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. It served as a church until 1964 when it was deconsecrated as it was no longer needed. The religious symbols were removed n 1967. On 2nd of September1989 it was damaged by hurricane Hugo and shortly there after it was restored. The bar is located in the main body of the church. They have 13 flat screen tv's and a 72 inch projection screen to make this place a sports bar. The sit up bar is at least 40 feet long and can seat 20 people. The surface of the bar is finished in copper. What a cool concept to turn a church in to a bar. They also have 5 booths and numerous tables and chairs. They recently put in an out side patio area out back. Apparently it turns into a high energy bar after 10 pm! But in the afternoon it was pretty laid back, and a nice was to take a break from sight seeing!!

Molly MacPherson's Scottish Pub and Grill (Savannah, Georgia)

Molly MacPherson's Scottish Pub and Grill, 311 West Congress Street,
Savannah, Georgia, United States

www.macphersonsppub.com. Cool, Cool place! It is named after the owner's great grand mother, which in its self is a great idea! The staff all wear kilts (even though they are Utility Kilts from Seattle Washington). They have a huge selection of Scotch It is a very comfortable small little bar with loads of character. The sit up bar is beautiful and the single scotch is all in dispensers ready to go behind the bar in full view.I could have easily stayed here a bit longer but since I was on the Haunted Pub Tour we had to move on, but not with out purchasing a glass of wine and T-shirt! Every one was friendly and made you feel at home! A must try if you are ever in Savannah!!

Moon River Brewing Company (Savannah, Georgia)

Moon River Brewing Company, 21 West Bay Street Savannah, Georgia, United States www.moonriverbrewing.com
Another great find and is located beside the Churchill's Pub. As the name suggests they brew their own beer. But not being a beer drinker I can't tell you anything about the beer. This place always seemed to be packed with people in for drinks or people in to eat. The sit up bar is right there as you enter, it is square with seating for about 20 or so. You can order your drink to go and you get it in a plastic cup and take it with you as you walk around Savannah. I never ate there but boy did the food look good as I checked out other patron's meals. This place is located in an old building that has the two uper floors remaining vacant for nearly 100 years due to them being haunted. I suggest you take the haunted Pub tour as well!

Churchill's Pub (Savannah, Georgia)

Churchill's Pub,13 West Bay Street
Savannah, Georgia, United States

This Pub was a great find, so good I had to go twice in the same day. It is 2 blocks from River Street and numerous other pubs in the area. The first time we sat on the roof top terrace, good thing we got there early as it filled up very quickly. They have a sit up bar on the terrace that can sit about 10 people and the rest of the terrace can hold 50-60 people. There is an elevator that takes you to all 3 levels of the pub. The main area of the pub is much more pub traditional with a very beautiful and ornate bar. It can easily sit 20 people. It has lots of dark wood and every thing is well maintained. They have tv's for watching your favorite sports game. We even were able to watch the National Hockey League playoff game!! In the basement there is the 3rd bar area with pool tables and a large bench that runs the length of the room which is about 60-70 feet. It is a little less refined down there. That evening we sat in the main pub area and watched the hockey game with two women from Chicago which was a blast. This could easily be my favorite bar in Savannah. As for the food the Chop Salad was good with large chunks of blue cheese and very fresh produce. The Shepherds Pie was a 7 out of 10. This is a must try bar!!

Rocks on the Roof Modern Lounge (Savannah, Georgia)

Rocks on the Roof Modern Lounge, 102 West Bay Street
Savannah, Georgia, United States
bohemianhotelsavannah.com
It is located on the roof of the Beautiful Bohemian Hotel the front faces Bay Street but the back is on River Street. Rocks on the Roof is 8 stories up with a stuning view of the surrounding area over lookking the Savannah River. There is an inside seating area but the outside area surrounds 3 of the 4 sides with beautiful out door furniture including at least 5 out door couches. There is a 8 foot long 3 foot high open fire place. I don't suggest this place if you are uncomfortable with height. Rocks is very very nice, very clean modern and I would say upscale! They have a good wine selection but I can't tell you anything about the beer or the food here. The washrooms were very clean and modern with the latest is design! I would come back here again and by the looks of the hotel I would love to stay there tooo!!!

Tommy Condon's Irish Pub and Seafood Restaurant (Charleston, South Carolina)

Tommy Condon's Irish Pub and Seafood Restaurant, 158 Church Street Charleston, South Carolina, United Stateswww.tommycondons.com
This is a great find in Charleston! It has tons of character and has that Irish feel to it. It has a beautiful large sit up bar whit loads of seats. They have an outside area that has a permanent cover to it. I found this out after and it was very busy. If I ever get a chance to come back here I will sit in the outside area for sure. The bar has several small rooms that are open to the bar and hold about 15-20 people each. Lots of locals were in having their lunch which is a good sign. The place has many authentic Irish antiques on the walls. All purchased and shipped over by Tommy himself after hurricane Hugo. I had the Shepherd Pie and is was good, but not the best I have had I would give it around a 7 out of 10. The service was very good and friendly. It is located in the Market area of Charleston and very well located. Lots of old mansions very near by and loads of shopping. I give this place two thumbs up!!

May 5 2019
We are back here again and sat in the covered out side area which is enjoyable and can watching everyone pass by. For lunch I had the home made corned beef, pickled cabbage and potatoes inside a deep fried spring roll with grainy mustard, that was amazingly good!!!  We shared the soft pretzels with Smithwicks cheese dip and it was good, a little runny though.  One in our group had the fried green tomatoes and said they were very god.  Another had the cod chunks and following along they too were good!  Great place!

Tubby's Tank House (Savannah, Georgia)

Tubby's Tank House, 115 East River Street, Savannah, Georgia, USA.. Another great location in Savannah right across the street from the Savannah River. Located on the second floor they have a large outside eating area, where just about everyone sits in the nice weather. Usually a line up to get a seat out side, but worth the wait. The sit up bar out side sits about 10 to 12 people. They hav a tradition when a ship passes by and toots its horn, you must call out and you get a shooter for $1.00. Great friendly service! Food isn't to bad either with lots of seafood dishes. A great place to eat drink, watch the people walk by and the ships pass by. Very close to all the shopping on River Street. I can't tell you much about the inside as I never checked it out, it was a beautiful sunny day and didn't feel like going inside!!

Early May 2019.  We wet here 2 times ad the service was very friendly and very good.  Food was good too!!

Jen's and Friends (Savannah, Georgia)

Jen's and Friends, 7 East Congress Street
Savannah, Georgia, United States

jensandfriendssavannah.com
A small little place that specializes in Martini's with 100 on the menu. Very reasonably priced and the martinis pack a punch!! You can get anything else you want to drink as it is not just martini's. The bartender worked her but off and no time was wasted in getting the drinks out to everyone!! It probably sits about 10-15 at the bar and another 15 people inside. There is a small seating area in front on the side walk. Another good thing about Savannah, you can take your drinks to go. Just ask for a to go cup and they will pour your drink in plastic glass and you can walk around with it. You can only walk around with one drink in hand though!!

Boar's Head Grill and Tavern (Savannah, Georgia)

Boar's Head Grill and Tavern, 1 North Lincoln Street Ramp, Savannah, Georgia, USA. Located at the corner of Lincoln Street Ramp and River Street over looking the Savannah River, in a very old building oozing with character. 12 X 12 inch timbers support the ceiling with wood plank floors. It has the original brick and mortar walls inside and out. The exterior walls are 24 inches thick. The service is very good with the staff wearing long sleeved white dress shirts and black pants. The food we tried was very good and included the Capri Salad. The salad had three thick tomato slices each with thick half cut mozzarella balls on them with a balsamic dressing. Bacon wrapped BBQ large shrimp with a peach BBQ sauce, with jimca coleslaw. The bouillabaisse with local fish, shrimp scallops in a mild base with rice/ wild rice and was very very good!!! The kitchen is an open concept so you can see the cooks preparing the food. No mysteries here! The bar it self sits about 12 people and was packed the entire time that we were there. I have nothing but good things to say about the Boar's Head!!

May 3 2019  Back again!  Sat up at the lovely bar for refreshments.  This building was built in 1792, and the bar apparently still has ghosts!  This is a very cool bar with  good feel to it.

O. C. Whites Seafood and Spirits (St. Augustine, Florida)

O.C. Whites Seafood and Spirits, 118 Avenida Menendez, St. Augustine Florida, USA. Originally built in 1790's and moved to it present location in 1964 where it over looks the marina. For most of it life it was the Worth Mansion. The food here was some of the best I have had while out this way. We had the Bruchetta,
fresh roma tomatoes marinated in fresh garlic, sweet basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar, served with fresh bread and the Bucket O Steamers
1/2 lb. of this season's crab legs and 1/2 lb. of large peel n' eat shrimp. Boiled in chef's own court bouillon. Served with drawn butter and cocktail sauce. They had a very nice wine list to wash down your meal. It was every bit good as it sounds. It has a nice 10 person sit up bar and seating for 30-35 people on the main floor. There are beautiful timbers and wood floors. Up stairs there is seating for 40 people with nice 6 inch plank floors. Out side they have a absolutely fabulous patio area with a large area completely covered in vines to shade you from the sun. This is just a wonderful place and well worth going to!!

Vinito Tuscan Tavern (Orlando, Florida)

Vinito Tuscan Tavern 4971 International Dr # 3D09
Orlando, Florida, United States
. www.vinitousa.com
This place is in the Prime Outlet Mall in Orlando, and a perfect place to have a drink on a hot day when your wife or partner is busy shopping. The sit up bar can seat about 15-20 people and there are about 7 or 8 tables. The rest of the place is a restaurant. I never ate here but I saw a lot of other people eating here and the food looked outstanding. Numerous employees from neighbouring business came to eat here on their breaks. The service was very good and the manager ensures that everything is being done properly to make the customer happy. I was not alone having a drink when my wife shopped. Several other guys stopped in for a cold one as it was 90 degrees out side! If I ever come back here I truly want to try the food. I should have found this place before I wandered around the mall for 1 1/2 hours!!

Raglan Road Irish Pub (Lake Buena Vista, Florida)

Raglan Road Irish Pub,1640 East Buena Vista Drive,
Lake Buena Vista, Florida, United States
. www.raglanroadirishpub.com This pub is located in Downtown Disney World, was build in Ireland, taken apart, moved and put back together in its present location. This is a very large pub with lots of seatin outside and inside. The oval shaped bar can seat about 30 people or more. There is lots of dark wood through out with an old pulpit from a church in the middle that us used as a dance platform for the Irish dancers. They have live Irish music in the evenings. This place allows children to eat here so it takes away from the true pub feel when you have a screaming 3 year old at the table next to you. The food here is great with large portions such as; Shepherds pie, Sod Stew, Bangers mashed onions and stew, and sausage appy. In Downtown Disney you can take your alcoholic drinks with you and that is what my wife and friend did, they had the Baileys Irish Cream shake which is to die for! This is a very popular place and always busy in the evenings. I really enjoyed this place and the food is well worth the visit!!
