Rendezvous Sports Bar & Grill (Langley, British Columbia)

Rendezvous Sports Bar & Grill also know as Rendezvous on 56th Pub and the Rendezvous Pub. Located at 20620-56 Avenue, Langley, British Columbia, Canada (rendezvouspub.com). This pub has been around for 30 years or so and it is a very popular pub in downtown Langley. There are 16 different types of beer on tap. 11 HD TV's with all the sports games on. The Rendezvous is know for their great food, and I haven't been disappointed yet! I tried their special which was a Schnitzel burger with sauerkraut. It came with fresh home cut fries. It was outstanding. I have been looking for a good schnitzel burger ever since the Duke of Wellington sold! So far this is the closest that I have been able to find. They have lunch, dinner and drink specials every day. To go along with the good food and drink their a couple of pool tables, keno, pull tabs and other various gambling games. This is an L shaped establishment with 10 seats at the bar. They have several booths along the wall that sit up a step higher giving you a good view of what is going on. The Rendezvous has an outside patio area with lots of seating. The Kokanee beer tap is really cool.......it is covered in ice. At first I thought it was plastic until I touched it. Makes you want to have an ice cold Kokanee beer!! The staff are very friendly and the service is usually very good! This is in a great location if you are attending the Langlely Cruise In which is held the 2nd weekend of September and there are between 2,000 and 2,500 old cars lined up all over the downtown area of Langely (a must see). So if you are ever in the Langley area I can easily recommend this place!!

Speed's Neighbourhood Pub (Ladner, British Columbia)

Speed's Neighbourhood Pub, 4943 Chisholm Street, Ladner (Delta) British Columbia, Canada. This is another great little pub with a great setting. It is on part of the south arm of the Fraser River where it empties into the Pacific Ocean. Ladner is a very quaint almost sleepy village, just outside Vancouver. There is a dock out back where a couple of old fishing vessels are tied up. This is truly a place "where the locals go." I have been here numerous times and it always has a large number of locals in for a drink and a visit. One of the local Pipe and Drum band's members are seen here frequently, which is a good sign. They have a covered patio area out back over looking the water. As I said, this a a very relaxed and great setting. The service is always fast, friendly and courteous. There are several HD TV's and people come for the game and a drink. Every time you come in here you are made to feel welcome and comfortable. The food is very good, from the chicken wings, the french fries and the burgers. As one of the girls that I know said, "That was the best hamburger I ever had!". The only knock on this place is that is is not closer to my home! This is a place that one of my brothers used to call his watering hole before moving away from the area. If you have the chance, try and make out here for a drink and a bite to eat. You will be pleasantly surprised!!

The Vault (Cloverdale, British Columbia)

The Vault Restaurant, 5764-176 Street, Cloverdale (Surrey), British Columbia, Canada. This is a great restaurant that also has a very nice bar in it. The name Vault comes from is original business, that being the Royal Bank of Canada (Cloverdale Branch). It has been converted into a restaurant and bar. The original vault has been saved and is now a private booth that can sit about 6 people. They have cut a hole in the wall so you can see inside when walking past. They have a fantastic menu and some of my favorites are: Seared scallops, Shanghai spring rolls, Chicken breast in a portabello and goat cream sauce, coconut curry prawn penne, and the lobster ravioli!! Wednesdays it is $3.75 martini's and Thursdays is 1/3 off wine! There is live music on the weekends, (Jazz) and you should have reservations as it is usually very busy. If you don't want to eat in the restaurant you can sit in the bar. The sit up bar it self seats about 10 people, and there are tables for two that seat another 10-14 people. The bar has several flat screen tv's for watching the game. The service in very good, fast and friendly. For you guys they have a very good hiring practice! Not that, that is important, but I had to throw that out there. Their sister restaurant/bar is the Washington Avenue Grill in White Rock/ South Surrey. If you are ever in the area or willing to make a small trip, this is a place that I highly recommend!! It is just 7 miles from the USA border (10 minute drive)!!!
