February 12 2019  Pelican Brewing Company 1371  S Hemlock Street, Cannon Beach, Oregon U.S.A.   pelicanbrewing.com/pubs/cannon-beach/   Opened in May 2016, in this nice building with on site brewing facility.  The sit-up bar is to the back of the establishment and is for over 21 only, children are allowed in the rest of the establishment. The sit-up bar seats 13 and is very modern.  Along the side street side is 3 large garage windowed doors that can roll up in good weather.  This place is fairly big with lots of seating.  I was told tat it gets packed in the summer time.  The bar area had 3 pub high tables for 4, 5 pub high tables for 2.  There is one 6 person pub high table that faces the side window and a a 10 person split log table that is pub high. I won't go in to the seating for the rest of the place.  There is an outside patio area in front and as well along the side street side.  The beer making vats are of to the side of the bar area and are clearly visible for easy viewing. The building has an open concept with exposed beams and clear view of the kitchen area.  They have 8 beers that are brewed on premise. For lunch I had the Tri Tip sandwich which was very good (and big)! My dinning partner had the build your own fish tacos and there was so much there she couldn't finish them all.  They were very good as well.  There is a nice gift shop in the front.  The washrooms are very clean and modern.   Great place!

February 10 2019    Bill's Tavern Brewhouse 188 North Hemlock Street, Cannon Beach, Oregon U.S.A.  Another cool place in beautiful Cannon Beach Oregon.  There is a historical sign on the front outside and says, "  Historical site 6.  Site of the original Bill's Tavern built in 1923.  always a local gathering place, the Gallagher/ Moore family owned it continuously until 1984"  It has a warm feel to it and a very nice 8 person sit-up bar with great floor mounted stools.  Booths are long the wall. We were there for drinks and I had a bowl of the Clam chowder which was very good.  They brew their own beer on site upstairs and have 8 on tap there are some guess beers on tap too!  They are known for their 1/3 pound beef burgers that come with fresh ground beef burger, lettuce, tomato, pick;es, mayo on  Sesame seed bun. Great spot, the bartender Travis was awesome!  They also have a sister pub to the south  couple of miles called the Warren House Pub, worth checking out too!  I will be writing about that soon.

Bounty Hunter Wine Bar & Smokin' BBQ (Napa, California U.S.A.)

Bounty Hunter Wine Bar & Smokin' BBQ  975  1st Street Napa, California U.S.A.     www/bountyhunterwinebar.com  Established in 1994 in a cool old building, it has a very nice 7 person sit-up bar at the back.  It is a small place but well themed, with it being western.  Probably not place for Vegans and the such as they have the following heads mounted on the wall: boar, antelope, moose, deer, bison and mountain sheep.  They smoke their own meat out back and smells wonderful!! They have a large wall displaying their wines.  There are over 400 wines to choose from and 40 wines by the glass to choose from. The most expensive wine that I saw for a 750 ml bottle was the 2013 Shafer, "Sunspot Vineyards" Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap at $2,000.00 USD. There is also a selection of 40 American whiskies. There are 3 beer on tap and also bottled beer. For lunch we split the Smoked Beef Brisket sandwich, it was absolutely amazing.  We had the following sides: salad and Mac N Cheese and they too were very good.  My wine flight was called "Great White Flight" with the following: 2017 Laird, "Cold Creek Ranch" Pinot Grigio,Napa.  2016 Emmolo, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa.  2016 Field Recordings "Wonderwall"Chardonnay, Edna Valley California.  I enjoyed them all. Capital Bar (Socorro, New Mexico U.S.A.)

Capital Bar, 110 Plaza Street, Socorro, New Mexico U.S.A.  In 1896 it was opened by two immigrant Italian brothers to sell the wine from their winery. They later sold it to a Judge who held court in the bar and had a jail in the back.  The bartender said one of the barred windows are still there.  During prohibition it was a pool hall but they bootlegged booze out of there and the trap door in front is still there. When you enter through the 2 swing front doors there is a 15 person long sit-up bar on the right. That is the original bar.   On the left are 4 booths for 4 and one round booth in the front corner that seats 6.  All wood plank floors and one pool table. to the right there is another room that looks like it is for dancing and live music. It was busy when we were there and mostly all locals.  As for food the only food they have is Pizza and chicken wings.  There are 30 different kinds of beer on tap.  It is also covered in a book about old bars from the south.  this place was pretty darn coool.  I love the history and there is more, but I can't write it all!!  Hahaha!

Behind are to large TV screens on edge that list all of their beer, which changes out often. Wednesdays are 1/2 off wine!! This is a narrow building and as you enter the bar is on the left and along the wall on the right is a long padded bench with tables for 2 and 4 and can be configured to seat a lot more together. In the back room, is another bar and that room seats 42 people and I imagine can be used for private functions and over flow when it is really busy.  Out behind that is a small out door patio area.  No TVs here you have to revert back to the old school thing called talking and visiting.  Our first appy was the "Panko crusted Avocado slices with,  poblano Jalapeno ranch" a couple never liked them and 2 of us really liked them. For lunch I had the "Mac and cheese, smoked Gouda, panko herb crust".  It was pretty darn good.
