3 Dogs Brewing (White Rock, British Columbia, Canada)

June 2022
3 Dogs Brewing  15181 Thrift Avenue,  White Rock, British Columbia, Canada this is their new location and have closed their other location on Johnston Road. Located on the ground floor of a 3 highrise condo complex facing the courtyard. There is lots of underground parking accessible from Thrift Ave. You can't sit up at the bar it is for ordering etc only.  All the tables are long cut Douglas Fir logs, which are used throughout the bar and covering the pillars. They are beautiful! Most of the tables seat 6 or more. You can expect to be seated with others during busy times. There is also a second floor area. Out front is a nice patio area where you can take your dog, but keep it on a leash. They have 13 rotating taps, as well as wine and cider. On Sundays they have Ceasers! For food they still have their famous hotdog as well as nachos, chilli bowl, charcuterie board and a few other things.  I was there on a Sunday afternoon and it was hopping. They had live music but that shuts down around 5 PM due to noise complaints from Condo residents.
The staff is very friendly! What a great place and I know that I will be back. 2 thumbs up!

The bar is on the left and seats six. There is lots of seating. Booths for 2, and an upstairs area too.  They have a large nice covered outdoor patio area.  They have a great selection of cocktails. Happy Hour is all day Monday, Wednesday to Saturday 2-5 PM with wine $6 Lager $6 as well as food and 2 cocktail specials.  Tiki Tuesday features tiki drink specials.  My son had the Haven Burger, Bradmer Farms organic beef, app.ewood smoked bacon,  cheddar cheese, carmelized onions, red relish,  toasted bun and fries. Big burger and said it was very good!  I had the Saunders Fried Chicken Sandwich,  Rossdowns Farms chicken breast,  smoked chilli ibbq rub, lettuce, tomato, sweet pickles, toasted bun and fries. This was an excellent sandwich and very tasty.  I would order it again!  Service was excellent! Children are welcome. I have been told that you may need to make reservations week in advance if you want to come in the evening.  I can't wait to come back here! 2 thumbs up for sure! We need more places .ike this.

 May 31, 2022

Driftwood Restaurant and Lounge 179 N Hemlock, Cannon Beach, Oregon, U.S.A. www.driftwoodcannonbeach.com Ph 503-436-2439.  I am talking about the lounge which is inside to the left and separate from the Restaurant and you must be 21 years old to get in. They have been here for 75 years and are a mainstay in town.  there is a nice 8 person curved J shaped bar with nice high back swivel chairs.  It is a small dark bar with e tables for 4, 1 table for 2 and 1 table for 6.  there are 8 beer on tap with full bar menu. 2TVs behind the bar.  for dinner my wife and I shared the Driftwood Steak Salad: Tender tip of seasoned Rib Eye, Top Sirloin and Tenderloin seared with mixed greens, diced tomatoes, and blue cheese crumbles served with Driftwood house bleu cheese dressing on the side.  What a great salad and a lot there too!  The Clam Chowder is very good too.  There are 4 Video Gambling Terminals by the door but separate from the lounge. If you don't want the lounge, the restaurant and outside patio area is very nice.  Staff is very friendly, courteous and efficient! We really like this place and friends of yours who come to Cannon Beach 4 times a year come here often and is their favorite place too.  Once again recommend going here , 2 thumbs up!!

Cannon Beach Smokehouse Charcuterie and Bar (Cannon Beach, Oregon, U.S.A.)

May 31, 2022

We went to Cannon Beach Smokehouse Charcuterie and Bar 131 W 2nd Street Cannon Beach, Oregon, U.S.A. www.smokehlusecannonbeach.com  Ph# 503-436-4035  What an amazing, cozy, little place!! It is small and you must get their early or be lucky with your timing to get a seat.  There is a 6 person reversed curved bar with the kitchen on the other side.  There are 3 tables for 4, 1 table for 3 and one table for 6.    There is a small patio area out back and it is in the Handicapped parking area and has 2 tables for 4.  They have 6 rotating beer taps.  I had a glass of the Pike Road Chardonnay for $8.  There is 1 tv and excellent back ground music.  For lunch my wife and I shared the Smokey Sampler for $36.00 here is what it came with: Slab of smoked brisket, pulled pork, and Kasekrainer sausage, with house made pickles, sourdough toast, coleslaw and house made BBQ sauce, mustard and sauerkraut. This was the best smoked meat I have ever had and I have tried a lot.  Was not over powering, very moist and the BBQ sauce was first class.   I will do what ever I can do to come back here.  We talked to a couple out front, who were waiting for it to open and one of the reasons they drove all the way from Hamilton, Washington was to come here again!.  We recommended the Smokey Sampler to another couple who came in. They only have 7 staff members and they are very friendly.  You have to go to Cannon Beach and come here, it is amazing!!  2 thumbs up for sure, wish I had a 3rd thumb!!

May 29, 2022
Taproot Lounge and Cafe in downtown Salem at 356 State Street, Salem,  Oregon, U.S.A.  www.taprootloungeandcafe.com. A great find and covers a lot, as it is a coffee shop in front and bar in the back. Sidewalk seating and and numerous tables and chairs inside in the front. Beer, wine and hard liquor served. 12 beer on tap. Happy hour is 3-6 PM and 9-midnight, with $1.00 off Pints, well drinks and tall boys. There are also food specials.   They have a beautiful curved sit-up bar in front made of what looks like split Douglas Fir. This is for coffee and pastries. Towards the back is a beautiful long sit-up bar that also looks like it is made of a split Douglas Fir and seats 15. In the back is a very comfortable area with big couches and split wood tables.  Along the wall is a full sized 22 foot long shuffleboard.  We had a great time playing shuffleboard, it was fast and had a few dips and curves. They serve healthy smoothies in the front and regular booze drinks in back. We did not eat here so can't talk about the food. They are open 8 am daily except when closed every Tursday. They stay open to mostly midnight.  We had a great time and would definitely like to come back again. Something for everyone!!

W. Wallace Eats and Drinks (Salem, Oregon, U.S.A.)

May 29, 2022
W. Wallace Eats and Drinks located at 383 State Street, Aalem, Oregon,  U.S.A.   www.wwallacebar.com  A cool little bar with a good history. They opened in 2018 but the building goes back in time. The building was originally built in the late 1800's the wood floors and brick walls are from then as is the marble when you enter. It was an Optometrist office through out the years.  In 1923 they did renovations and the present ceiling tiles and a lot of the woodwork is from the  too. The present owners father an Attorney owned the building, so when they opened the bar they named it after his father.  It is a small narrow and cosy bar.  The bar is closed Mondays but open Tuesday to Thursday 3-10 PM, Friday and Saturday noon to midnight and Sunday noon to 10pm. There is a nice 6 person sit-up bar. There are also 4 tables for 4 and 2 pub high tables for 4 with a couple of side walk tables.  They specialize in numerous cocktails,  4 types of beer on tap with wine available too. We didn't eat here but they have a full menu. A great little cozy bar, great friendly staff!
