Havana Central Restaurant and Bar, 151 West 46th Street, New York, New York U.S.A.  www.havanacentral.com  What a great place done in a 1950's retro Havana theme. It too is just steps away from Time Square. They have a nice 20 person sit-up bar and there is a long sit-up area behind the bar seats that faces the restaurant with 18 bar height stools.There are 5 different beer on tap but beer isn't their specialty!  Try the El Gran Borracho, 51 ounces of "The Best Rum Punch in NYC".   5 different rums, one Scorpion bowl and Fresh tropical juices in a 51 ounce glass!!  One person who ha it said it was very sweet! They have two TV's and funny enough when we were there they had curling on! At lunch the bar an restaurant were both very busy.  We never tried the food.  the service was very good and our bartender/ waitress was Cuban. Loved the interior and the feel of this place and would come back for sure!!!

Pig N Whistle On 46th, 144 West 46th Street, New |Your, New Your, U.S.A. just step away from Time Square.   www.pignwhislteon46th.com  Like bars in this area it is long and narrow with a 2nd floor. On the main floor they have a 16 person long marble topped sit-up bar.  Along the wall they have 6 two person tables.  There are 8 TV's on the main floor part of the bar.  There are 8 different types of beer on tap.  They also have a good selection of wine available. Up stairs there is a 14 person marble top sit-up bar.there are 5 tables for 2 and 3 pub high tables.  There is a small patio area out front over looking the street.  Service was vary good and friendly. We sat upstairs in a angle sort of booth and it afforded us a great view of the bar.  In the back there are more tables and they an be put together to sit larger groups.  Nice place, really enjoyed it.

O'Briens Irish Pub and Restaurant (New York, New York U.S.A.)

O'Brien's Irish Pub and Restaurant 134 West 46th Street, New York, New York, U.S.A.   www.obriensnyc.com  Great bar just steps from Time Square.  It is long and narrow with two levels.  On the main floor they have long 18 person sit-up bar (middle pic).  There are several tables along the wall that seat 2.  They have 18 different types of beer on tap.  In the front there is live music.  The Chicken Pot pie was very good!  My friend had the Onion Guinness soup and said that it was very good. Good vibe and lots of locals frequent this location.  Upstairs is the Langans Lounge which is quieter and has a 12 person sit-up bar. there are also tables for 2 along the wall and in the front is a smaller area facing the street that can be reserved for smaller functions.  They forgot to put my order in but were quick to comp me a glass of wine and that was great for me.  They have a chalk board listing the beer that change out often. I really liked this place.

Sully's Snowgoose Saloon (Seattle, Washington U.S.A.)

Sully's Snowgoose Saloon  Located at the corner on Phinney Avenue North and North 62nd Avenue Seattle, Washington U.S.A.  My niece Shannon, her guy Chuck and his sister Carolyn  happened to be in Seattle on vacation when they passed by this place on the bus and thought I would be interested in trying it out.  So one day Carolyn, myself and my far better half tried it out.  The building was built quite a while ago, but the saloon has been here for 40 years. They have a couple of stuffed snow geese mounted.  There s a high peaked ceiling, and it is not a very big place. It has a bit of an Irish theme to it.  There is a 10 person sit up bar.  They have 2- 4 person booths, 2 pub high tables seating 2 to 4, there are a couple of other tables and a table for 5 in front of the fire place. Very much a local neighbourhood saloon (tavern). A lot of the people who came in on the late Friday afternoon we were there all knew each other.  Apparently dogs are allowed in too as there were two, one in the booth behind us on a leash and the other that every one seemed to know wandered around freely visiting with every one and belonged to one of he patrons.  There is a sidewalk patio out front. On tap they have 27 different types of beer and one cider.  They serve food but We didn't eat here as there was only the bartender working and she had to do the cooking too, she said it could take a while.  They offer burgers, pizza, hot-dogs, a few sandwiches and nachos.  The men's washroom.....not the nicest I have been in.  the girls didn't venture in to the women's restroom.  One event of note is the "Sullys April fools World Championship Pie Joust".  We spoke to one of the regulars who explained it to us.  He said it is held every April fools, and contestants ride bicycles and have a pie in hand and joust trying to hit the other rider n the face with a cream pie as they ride past. He said to get there early as it is extremely popular.  I would love to see this, participate, not likely!!  I can't make it this year but in the future who knows.  If you are looking or fancy and refined this isn't the place for you. An eclectic place for sure, but we enjoyed ourselves and the bartender was great.  As we were leaving a second employee arrived to help out. 

S&L Kitchen and Bar South Surrey (Surrey, B.C. Canada)

S&L Kitchen and Bar South Surrey,  16051-24 Avenue, Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.  S&L is part of the Joseph Richard Group of bars and is a little more upscale then their Town  Hall bars.  I have been here a few times and enjoy the feel here.  They have a nice 10 person sit-up bar.  In the middle there are 8 oval booths that can seat 6ish easily.  They also have 2 pub high tables that seat 6 as well as 4 other high tables seating from 2 to 4.  They all come with hooks to hang jackets/ purses.   There are more booths to the side and standard tables and chairs.  There is a small patio area that is covered and has heaters.  When you enter you are greeted by a hostess and seated where ever you like.  The bar is done all in black and white through out.  There are 4 TV's all on one wall, there is music playing in the back ground but not at a level that makes it hard to talk and hear. They have a good happy hour that runs from 2 pm to 6 pm and a late night happy hour from 9 pm to close.  6 oz house wine is $4.00 Two Pals Lager $4.00 and highballs $4.00. Food that we tried on the happy hour menu was the East coast Lobster Roll, very good!,  Fried Mac and Cheese Sticks (comes with 2)  OMG they are killer good!! Fried cauliflower, breaded and in a blue cheese sauce, I loved that too!  Truffle fries, also good.  I would come here just for the \mac and Cheese sticks and the Lobster rolls!  Oh, I forgot to mention the amazing Lobster Chowder...mmmmm good!   14 different types of beer on tap, as well as the usual bar drinks.  Service was great every time we were here, very polite, friendly and efficient.  The washrooms are all individual washrooms with toilet and sink, nice and private. Parking is good especially to the west side of the building.  I really like this place and the food is awesome!

Mike's Chili Parlor Tavern (Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.)

Mike's Chili Parlor Tavern, 1447 NW Ballard Way, Seattle, Washington, U.S.A..   Located just at the north end of the Ballard Bridge on the east side.  You can't miss it! What an amazing find, this is truly a little piece of History!!!  A Greek guy named Mike opened this place up in 1937 and has been going strong in the same building since.   It has been family run all this time and his grandson Phil and his wife run it now. I love how the big mall that went is next door could not push them out!  It has a classic 9 person sit up bar.  There are 40 booths for 4 long the wall and one in the corner.  They have 3 pub high tables for 7.  It is a small place but tons of character. There are 10 different types of beer on tap.  As for wine there is 1 white and 2 res.  Regular hard l liquor is available too.  Beer on tap is $4 for a pint or $11 for a pitcher.Standard cans and bottles of beer are $6.  Wine is $7  Happy hour is 3 to 6 pm, well drinks $3 and $1 off pints of beer and pitchers of beer. One thing you must know is it is Cash only!  No credit, debit, bitcoin or cheques!  All prices include the tax.  Now for the food and lets start with the Chili:  Big Ass Bowl (no meat) is $16.00  The Straight Big Ass Bowl (meat)is $20.00.  The chili Bowl (no meat) $6 and the Straight Chili bowl (meat) is $8.  You can get chili on hot-dogs, burgers, pasta, meter and steak.  They have a variety of burgers running from$6.50 to $9.50.  We has the Chili and it was very good! made in house and has a little zip to it but not too much,  You can get it with  big scoop of diced onions, shredded cheddar cheese and jalapenos.  You can get Chili to go:  $8 for a pint, $15 for a Quart and $55 for a gallon (cal a head to order) you must bring your own container and it also comes with diced onions, shredded cheddar cheese and jalapenos.  A friend hd it and brought his slow cooker in and they filled it up!  Excellent way to do it for a party!  There are 5 TV's throughout with sports on. Mike's was on the Food Channel on the show "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives"  v I can't say enough about this place!  We loved it and can't wait to come back again.  You have to put this on your list of places to go when in Seattle, you won't be disappointed.

Beer Hunter Sports Pub & Grill (La Quinta, California U.S.A.)

Beer Hunter Sports Pub and Grill, 78-483  Hwy 111, La Quinta California, U.S.A.  Nice bar in a nice shopping mall.   It has a huge sit-up bar that seats some where around 35 people and kind of meanders around.  In the middle is a sunken area called "The Pit", which has 2 pool tables and some arcade games and a TV.   There is lots of sports memorabilia on the walls and ceiling, including 50 PGA golf bags hanging from the ceiling. They were pretty cool though! There is a full size shuffle board n the left as you enter. I was unable to find out the story on them.  There are around 40 TV's through out the bar.  They have 8 booths and lots of seating through out.  There are also 2 other pool tables that they an also turn in to large tables for functions.  For lunch we had the El Jefe's Fish Tacos (battered cod, cabbage, serrano garlic sauce, cheese and pico.)  There were two of the tacos and they were huge with lots of fish.  They came with fries or tater tots or salad.  they were very good.  Also we had the Patty Melt (8 oz home made patty, grilled onions, grilled rye bread with Swiss cheese) and same side options.  It too was very good.  They have an extensive menu too!  As for beer, they have 27 different ones on tap and they are listed on a large TV like display board.  A decent wine selection helped too.  Service was nice and friendly. We enjoyed it here.  The present owners bought it about one year ago.
