The bar area had 3 pub high tables for 4, 5 pub high tables for 2. There is one 6 person pub high table that faces the side window and a a 10 person split log table that is pub high. I won't go in to the seating for the rest of the place. There is an outside patio area in front and as well along the side street side. The beer making vats are of to the side of the bar area and are clearly visible for easy viewing. The building has an open concept with exposed beams and clear view of the kitchen area. It is a small place but well themed, with it being western. Probably not place for Vegans and the such as they have the following heads mounted on the wall: boar, antelope, moose, deer, bison and mountain sheep. They smoke their own meat out back and smells wonderful!! They have a large wall displaying their wines. There are over 400 wines to choose from and 40 wines by the glass to choose from. There are 3 beer on tap and also bottled beer. For lunch we split the Smoked Beef Brisket sandwich, it was absolutely amazing. Capital Bar (Socorro, New Mexico U.S.A.)
Capital Bar, 110 Plaza Street, Socorro, New Mexico U.S.A. In 1896 it was opened by two immigrant Italian brothers to sell the wine from their winery. They later sold it to a Judge who held court in the bar and had a jail in the back. The bartender said one of the barred windows are still there. During prohibition it was a pool hall but they bootlegged booze out of there and the trap door in front is still there. When you enter through the 2 swing front doors there is a 15 person long sit-up bar on the right. That is the original bar. On the left are 4 booths for 4 and one round booth in the front corner that seats 6. All wood plank floors and one pool table. to the right there is another room that looks like it is for dancing and live music. It was busy when we were there and mostly all locals. As for food the only food they have is Pizza and chicken wings. There are 30 different kinds of beer on tap. In the back room, is another bar and that room seats 42 people and I imagine can be used for private functions and over flow when it is really busy. Out behind that is a small out door patio area. No TVs here you have to revert back to the old school thing called talking and visiting. Our first appy was the "Panko crusted Avocado slices with, poblano Jalapeno ranch" a couple never liked them and 2 of us really liked them. For lunch I had the "Mac and cheese, smoked Gouda, panko herb crust". It was pretty darn good.
