Alger Bar and Grill, 1758 Old Highway 99, Alger, Washington. It is just east of Interstate 5 at exit 240. It is just north about 10 minutes from Burlington and south of Bellingham by about 20 minutes. You will come to a four way stop and there it is on the corner. Right across the street is a motel and RV camping, how convenient!! This was recommend to my by Pubpals! So I met him at the Alger. The sit up bar has about 10 stools. It is kind of your typical small town US bar. Most of the seating is in booths that seat 4. They do have some tables and chairs. There are 2 pool tables and a couple of dart boards. The washrooms .....hhmmmm....could use a good scrub down. Having said all that the serivce was really good and very friendly. The food specialty is Fried Chicken, and I had to have it. It came with a breast/ rib, thigh, drum stick, full wing (all large pieces), coleslaw and choice of fries of Jojo potatoes. I had the Jojo's. The fried chicken was great!! Wifey had the brocolli and cheese soup (big bowl I may add) and she said it was very good. The prices were very reasonable. My meal was $9.95 and I couldn't finish it all!! If your are looking for good food and a drink, this place is worth a try. Keep in mind it ain't one of those fancy big city places!! If you are looking for fancy, this might not be fore you!!
