Jimmy Flynn's Celtic Snug (White Rock, British Columbia)

Jimmy Flynn's Celtic Snug, Restaurant- Irish bar, Pub and Bistro 15065 Marine Drive, White Rock British Columbia, Canada. Great location over looking the Ocean and right by the famous White Rock Pier. I was not impressed by this place. It did not have any Irish feel to it at all. I must say they had a couple of entertainers, one singing and playing the guitar and the other on a fiddle and they were good. Sitting in the bar area in the best tables in the place were two families and 4 young kids! They were very loud and obnoxious and that took away from the experience. That is not what I look for in a pub! We were given the menus and when we ordered the cheese plate, we were told that they don't have that on the menu any more. She said they are going to be coming out with a new menu. Duh, maybe tell us before we order. The waitress could not even suggest something else, she had to ask the cook. We told her that was OK we will figure something out. I settled for the stuffed Yorkies with an onion demi glaze. It wasn't to bad. My wife the the baked Brie, roasted garlic and cranberry sauce with flat bred. The cranberry sauce came out of a can and still had the can marks on it. At least mix it up so it isn't so obvious! The flat bread was....well flat and lacked everything. They had one projection screen on the wall...hey get caught up with the times and put in a proper large screen LCD or something. This place just was not a good experience. Too bad because it has a great location, great view and some potential. There are many better places near by and you don't have to go far to find one. I won't be back!
